NIGUEL HILLS MIDDLE SCHOOL

Band is a year-long course designed to prepare students for ensemble performances, solo performances, Honor Band auditions at the district, regional, and state level. Students will learn music skills, reading skills, and organizational skills to use time efficiently and balance homework and at home practice. Performances will include 2-3 public performances, at least one festival appearance, a performance with Dana Hills High School for a football halftime show. Other performances e.g. Knott’s Berry Farm, and or other civic events may be scheduled as time allows. Learning an instrument can allow for future opportunities and potential college scholarships.

 

Orchestra is a year-long course designed to prepare students for ensemble performances, solo performances, Honor Orchestra auditions at the district, regional, and state level. Students will learn music skills, reading skills, and organizational skills to use time efficiently and balance energy for homework and at home practice.  Performances will include 2-3 public performances, at least one festival appearance, and an area concert including elementary, middle, and high school orchestras. Other performances e.g. Knott’s Berry Farm, and or other civic events may be scheduled as time allows. Learning an instrument can allow for future opportunities and potential college scholarships.
